Longleat in iTunes top ten hitlist

5:06pm Monday 6th October 2008

By Victoria Ashford »

STAFF on the Longleat estate near Warminster are celebrating this week after their web series aimed at children topped 100,000 viewers.

The five-minute Junior Ranger shows put together by brother and sister duo Joe Smith, 12, and Annie, 10, is aired through iTunes and is regularly in the top 10 of the Kids and Family podcast section, peaking at number two.

The production, which focuses on the tourist attractions and safari park on the Longleat Estate, is a family collaboration filmed by their father Clive, an experienced TV cameraman.

Longleat's marketing manager, Jo Sparrow, said "I am absolutely delighted with the performance of Junior Rangers.

"Joe and Annie have become an integral part of the Longleat team and have shown remarkable dedication, bravery and sheer determination to the programme.

"They handled tarantulas and snakes; prepared fish for the sea lions; mucked out the rhinos; took a ferret for a walk; washed down the Safari Bus and so much more."

The series has been recommissioned for 2009 with Joe and Annie, who are from Andover, currently thinking up some exciting new stories for the programmes.
