1:20pm Thursday 2nd October 2008

By Victoria Ashford »

A DOORMAN was assaulted and another man suffered a suspected broken nose after a fight in Warminster.

Louis Wackett, 20, who is a member of security staff at the John Barleycorn pub in Weymouth Street, received a split lip after a fight broke out in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Pub manager Vicki Ludlow said: "It all happened at the door. It happened so quickly no one had any chance to do anything. There were no problems all evening until right at the end.

"Poor Louis, he's a very good doorman."

Inspector Dave Minty of Warminster and Westbury police, said: "This (fighting in the town) is an area I am keen to crack down on so I will be pursuing the case."

  • A 19-year-old man from Heytesbury was arrested for assault and released on police bail pending further inquiries.
